That’s why I created the Maloney Learning Framework—to give students structure, clarity, and confidence in how they approach their time and responsibilities.

At Maloney Learning, students learn a simple four-step framework that helps them approach school with confidence and structure.

Students begin by developing awareness of how their time is actually spent. We look at school schedules, activities, homework demands, and downtime so students can clearly see where their time goes.

Plan Your Work

Once students understand their time, they learn how to plan realistically. This includes breaking large assignments into smaller steps, estimating time, and building weekly schedules that make schoolwork manageable.

Protect Your Energy

Students learn that productivity is not just about time — it is also about energy. We talk about sleep, balance, downtime, and managing stress so students can stay focused and avoid burnout.

Start Your Tasks

Finally, students practice strategies to overcome procrastination and initiate work.They learn how to begin tasks, build momentum, and follow through on their plans.

Students learn and practice this framework in my small-group workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions.

Services

Individualized Academic & Executive Function Coaching
$75.00

One-on-one coaching sessions provide personalized support to help students take control of their learning. Each session is tailored to your student’s unique needs, focusing on organization, time management, study strategies, task initiation, and confidence-building. Together, we identify challenges, set achievable goals, and practice strategies that students can use immediately in school and beyond.

Sessions are designed to build independence, reduce stress, and create habits that last. Ideal for students preparing for middle school, high school, navigating challenging workloads, or looking to strengthen their executive-function skills.

Pricing: $75/hour or 30-min sessions at $40 for shorter check-ins or focused topics. Sessions are offered in person in Chapel Hill/Durham at an agreed upon location or virtually.

The Student Success Framework Workshops
$85.00

A structured approach to help students manage their time, plan their work, protect their energy, and take action. Each workshop can be taken individually based on your child’s needs, or combined to build a complete system for success.

Tutoring & Homework Support
$55.00

Personalized tutoring and homework support for students, helping them build understanding, complete assignments, and strengthen study habits.

Services include:

  • Subject Tutoring: Math (K-4th), Reading & Writing (K-8th)

  • Homework Help & Study Strategies: Guidance with assignments while practicing organization and effective study habits

  • Test Preparation: Targeted strategies for quizzes and exams

These services complement our executive-function coaching, giving students extra support where they need it most.

Pricing: $55/hour

Sessions are in-person in Chapel Hill at an agreed upon location.

Learn How to Study: Study Skills That Work

Students learn how to study smarter using proven strategies that improve retention, focus, and confidence. Most students aren’t taught how to study. This workshop changes that.

  • Active recall (how to actually remember what you study).

  • Spaced repetition (study less and retain more)

  • Reading Strategies for comprehension

  • Test Prep that reduces stress and improves performance

This workshop focuses on the habits that fuel student performance—sleep, movement, nutrition, and daily routines. Students learn how to take care of their bodies and minds so they have the energy needed to focus, learn, and stay consistent.

Students will identify small, realistic changes that improve their energy and make school feel more manageable.

About me

Hi, I’m Jessica Maloney, an educator, learning coach, and entrepreneur passionate about helping students become confident, independent learners. I have over 17 years of experience teaching elementary and middle school students and currently teach, emphasizing executive-function skills such as organization, time management, and focus.

I hold a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Curriculum Design and draw on my background in HR, office, and retail management to teach practical life skills, including budgeting, financial awareness, and responsible use of technology and AI.

As an entrepreneur, I create and lead summer learning camps, small-group workshops, and individualized tutoring programs that provide students with personalized support and practical skills to thrive academically and beyond.

Originally from Los Angeles, I now live in Chapel Hill, NC, with my husband and two teens. I love partnering with students and families to help students grow academically, build independence, and feel confident in school and in life.
